Cricket Practice Nets

Cricket practice nets provide a contained training environment where batsmen and bowlers can practice at full intensity without risk to spectators, adjacent property, or ball retrieval delays. A properly installed cricket net creates a regulation-dimension batting lane that replicates match conditions as closely as possible, giving players the practice quality they need to improve.

Standard cricket practice nets use HDPE knotted netting in 45mm or 50mm mesh, with a minimum cord breaking strength of 35kg per knot — the specification required to stop a cricket ball travelling at full bowling pace. The net is stretched on a galvanised steel tubular frame, typically 3.5m wide by 3m high by 25m long, with optional side baffles to prevent edge balls escaping the lane.

Installation options include permanent in-ground posts, portable sleeve systems for nets that need to be relocated or stored seasonally, and roof-mounted systems for indoor practice facilities. All posts are engineered to handle the dynamic tension loads from the net in use and from wind loading for outdoor installations.
