Pet Safety Nets

Pet safety nets protect cats, small dogs, rabbits, and other animals from accidental falls from balconies, windows, and open staircases. Cats in particular are notorious for investigating balcony railings and leaping onto external surfaces, and falls from high-rise apartments are a leading cause of serious injury and death in urban pets. A properly installed pet safety net eliminates this risk permanently.

The mesh aperture for pet safety nets is selected based on the size of the animal. For cats, a 25–35mm mesh is appropriate — small enough to prevent a cat from squeezing through, but large enough to be largely unnoticeable from inside the apartment. For small dogs and rabbits, a tighter 20mm mesh is recommended. All nets use soft, flexible knotted construction to prevent injury to curious paws.

Pet safety nets are designed to allow pets to interact with the net without risk — they can press against it, paw at it, and lean on it without the net deflecting enough to allow a fall. The border anchoring system is rated to handle the dynamic loading of an active cat or dog pressing against or jumping at the net repeatedly over many years.
